ARIEL PINK’S HAUNTED GRAFFITI ‘SCARED FAMOUS’ HALL OF RECORDS

“For years I put my faith in print/As if the truth could be discovered there/My list could hold my soul intact/Like paintings/Like photographs . . . ” There are little jewels like this, buried within Scared Famous. Pink tests the comfort level with bizarre non-sequitur sounds from his various multiple personalities, though he’s always playful whether acting cheeky (“Are You Gonna Look After My Boys”) or semi-somber (“In a Tomb All Your Own”). Your psyche might reject this if you aren’t ready to be led toward some haunted personals truths, but don’t worry—there’s enough reverb to cushion you along this jumbled journey.
