Just about anybody can come to Long Beach, put down big paper on tickets and parking and beer, plant their ass in the bleachers and call themselves an auto racing fan. But who can find their way to Carson, lay out a couple of Abe Lincolns, squeeze behind the wheel of a high-performance go-kart, gun it around three different slippery-surfaced tracks and call themselves an auto racer? Okay, just about everybody . . . although you might want to do a MapQuest search before you go—I know you get off the 405 Freeway at Carson Street, but from there directions are kinda sketchy. Gimme a break! I’m an auto racer, not a bus driver.
