While Googling the words “seitan” and “sushi” (why not, right?) I stumbled across this curious site featuring a recipe for “Shiny Toy Sushi,” featuring a recipe and photo of (presumably) members of Shiny Toy Guns. Recommendations from the weekend:
1. General tso seitan. Use slightly less soy sauce and vinegar than recommended.
2. Ginger braised seitan.
3. New Scandinavian Cooking. Hands down the prettiest (if not best!) cooking show that you don’t need money to watch. Search for it on PBS and start taping. Your future obsessions: langostines, gorgeous hillsides, grapeseed oil.
