Dith, 65, is credited with coining the terrible term “killing fields,” according to The Associated Press, whose obituary [...]

LIKE SANDS THROUGH THE HOURGLASS…

March 23, 2008

…the war goes on and on and on…
Sometime last week we hit the 5th anniversary of our Glorious Experiment in Iraq. It wasn’t mentioned here, but not because we forgot. We were simply too bitter, too weary, to make any sort of fuss.
On Easter Sunday, we reached a new milestone: 4,000 US [...]

February 27, 2008

We don’t reprint press releases—kind of makes us redundant—but this one from Bob Koehler of the Cypress Church Patriots Ministry is worth reading, both for the name of the group in the kitchen of a church fundraiser (Knights of the Holy Grill), and for the message a Marine officer delivered at that fundraiser Friday: “We [...]

But you knew that.
The Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit center for investigative journalism, finds that in the two years after 9/11, the Bush administration made at least 935 false statements to justify military action.

Neocons like to roll their eyes and claim, in exhausted, put-upon voices, that “everyone thought that Iraq had weapons of mass [...]

OOPS! WE WERE WRONG!

December 2, 2007

Turns out that we’re all just as safe as we need to be, Port of Long Beach included…
We found that it wouldn’t require much in the way of planning, money or resources for a single person to wreak havoc at the Port of Long Beach.
But there is nothing to worry about, because according to the [...]

LOOK WHO’S COUNTING IRAQ CIVILIAN DEATHS

December 2, 2007

It’s been a week since the Bush Administration declared the surge of troops in Iraq a huge success–civilian and troop deaths down–but the guys at Fox News are, on this Sunday morn, a week later, still boasting (here’s Chris Wallace last Sunday).
