A caller reported seeing a strange sight in the early evening hours: a pack of teens huddled under a streetlight talking to each other via walkie-talkies. According to the caller, the teens parked a couple of cars under the light and had a series of car batteries hooked up to a machine that may have been siphoning power from the streetlight. Unsure of what the kids were actually doing—recharging their batteries, stealing city electricity, summoning the dead—the caller gave police a quick description of the youths. The ringleader, said the caller, was in his early twenties, dressed scarily enough in some beat-up black jeans and a Goonies T-shirt.

An elementary school’s weekend custodial crew was hard at work when they stumbled upon what appeared to be a break-in. The responding janitors reported that vandals broke into the men’s restroom of the teacher’s lounge and messed up the place, causing some minor damage. They also reported that the hoodlums tried kicking in the doors to a couple of classrooms but apparently couldn’t muster the strength. Motives, aside from bitter pop quiz memories, remain unknown. The vandals did, however, leave one significant clue: a pile of empty Bacardi bottles.
