Lil Bam “Twenty Twenty Vision: Stating the Facts” V.I.P. Entertainment

“Lil Bam is a Long Beach native, and he self-released the album before V.I.P. Entertainment [the store’s label] started helping him out. He has the album set up like an interview. In between songs, he talks about why he does what he does, then it goes back to the album. Cherie Johnson, that girl from Punky Brewster, knows him somehow and is the one asking the questions. What I like about his album is it has that West Coast gangster sound, but it’s not gang-banging music for the sake of gang-banging. He’s a lyricist, and anyone that’s all about lyrics will like his album. It’s also got a lot of great beats, so if you like beats, too, then it’s a double-whammy. And I’m not just saying all this because we have a stake in it. It’s been one of our top sellers since it came out a few months ago, and I was pushing it before the owner got a hold of it.” // DEGREE
