THE AGGROLITES “REGGAE HIT L.A.” HELLCAT

“I used to do stuff for these guys when they were first starting out playing bars like five or six years ago. This is their third album and it sounds like they finally got the sound they wanted—the perfect blend of reggae, punk and soul. It’s neat to see a mixture of different cultures and genres mixed into one album, and it works so well. They played Fingerprints not too long ago and had a bunch of kids come up and sing with them, which was cool. They were also on a Nick Jr. show not too long ago called Yo Gabba Gabba. The director is the singer of the Aquabats and they did a tour with them a few years ago, so he invited them to come on the TV show. They sing an old reggae song called ‘Banana’ and they’re all dressed up in red jumpsuits and everyone’s throwing bananas at them. It’s hilarious.” // DOMONIQUE BELL
