ROBIN TROWER “BRIDGE OF SIGHS” CAT

“Robin Trower is a three-piece blues band named after the band’s guitar player. If your band is named after you, you better be good, right? This album is straight-ahead blues-rock, but when it came out it was amazing because he’s a virtuoso blues guitar guy. Trower was the closest thing to Hendrix in the mid-toearly ’70s. He was the guitar player in Procol Harum, but he eventually went his own way. The album starts with ‘Day of the Eagle,’ and it just rips right from the get-go. There’s ‘Too Rolling Stoned,’ the first cut on the second side, which is eight minutes long. And ‘Lady Love’ needs more cowbell! This is the type of album that if you love blues and you love classic rock it’s the perfect album for you.” // DYZZY DIEHM
