Cap’n Crunch Milkshake and Malt

Oh Cap’n, my Cap’n: You’re in milkshake form now? It’s true: Carl’s Jr. has decided to corner the cereal-for-dessert market by unleashing a Cap’n Crunch-flavored shake and malt. You could argue that more flavorful cereals (like Cocoa Pebbles or Lucky Charms) would be a better fit for the shake-ification process, but the fact that a major fast food chain is offering a combination so random it’s assumed the product development phase involved a top hat and scraps of paper is no less than mind-bogglingly awesome. So how does this God-forsaken creation taste? Surprisingly good. It helps that Carl’s Jr. took the safe route by blending real Cap’n Crunch in a vanilla shake, leaving the cereal’s signature sweetness intact without overwhelming the whole frosty enterprise. The blended bits of Crunch are even fairly solid, indicating that the Soggies (Cap’n’s milk-blob-creature nemeses from TV commercials of yore) have again lost to the Cap’n in what should have been a gimmie. Cynics will cry out that this is ultimately just a vanilla milkshake with Cap’n Crunch mixed in, but that’s missing the point: Your other option is your stoner friend and a blender.

Great review, Adam. Very funny…I can’t say I liked it as much as you did, but you will always been the keep of hyphenated word combos.
