DRINK OF THE WEEK: IGUANA KELLY’S BABYBLUE

A mildly enjoyable day had quickly changed into a bad one, as I opened my wallet to find I had foolishly left my bank card in an ATM earlier in the day. And so—as you do in such situations—I hit the bars, ending up at Iguana Kelly’s and under the very kind and dutiful care of Denise the bartender. Her solution to my woes? The Babyblue, a gentle concoction of Stoli Strawberry, Island Blue Pucker, Sweet n’ Sour and 7 Up that appeared before me as a translucent glass of sky-colored goodness. This is the sort of drink that puts a warm and friendly arm around your shoulder—as opposed to the kind that delivers a Bruce Lee-like jab to your head and leaves you spouting horrendous pick-up lines at the unlucky ones standing near you. With a taste that’s delicate (but not weak), it goes easy down the gullet—sweet, but your manhood will remain intact. By the time I could stare at the bottom of the glass, I’d already forgotten my troubles. So I ordered another one (for research!). Conclusion: If you’re feeling blue, Iguana Kelly’s has the drink for you.
