A 58-year-old woman reported a bit of a bleeding problem—she was supposedly suffering from a deep laceration on her head. According to the woman, her scalp was split the night before when her boyfriend reportedly hit her on the head with a pair of pliers. Nobody was sure if a crime actually occurred, though, as the women then said that it might not have been the pliers after all—she was also pecked in the head by a big black crow.

Panic swept over a local resident after he discovered that his golf cart had gone missing. The man had apparently made the crucial mistake of leaving his key in the ignition overnight, an open invitation for any criminal interested in a painfully slow getaway. But lost in the day’s patriotic haze was that the golf cart wasn’t missing at all; it was simply taken by a neighbor who thought it was his own golf cart, which itself was allegedly missing. The would-be cart-napper found his ride the next day, though. It was parked down the street.
