A store manager thought he saw something fishy when he watched a woman finish up some last-minute shopping. The manager described the woman as heavyset and made sure to pass along the fact that she was wearing a loose brown shirt and blue sweatpants—apparently the perfect clothes to conceal her crime. Employees finally thought they had the woman when some of the store’s merchandise simply fell out of her clothing. They also reported that she was acting like she was under the influence. But authorities arrived to a different scene—the woman had paid for all those items and she had the receipt to prove it.

A love triangle collided just after midnight when a resident reported that a cab had dropped off a friend of his ex-wife’s. The caller thought that the man might be his ex-wife’s boyfriend, but couldn’t be sure—all he knew was that this guy kept calling him and harassing him. After the resident refused to even entertain the man pacing around his lawn, the caller was able to report to police that things were cooling down despite the fact that the man was reportedly in a verbal argument with himself, swearing his way back into the cab.
