Criminy!

CRIMINY!

Credit Hold

SEAL BEACH BLVD | SEAL BEACH
SAT | APR 26 7:24PM
After grabbing a bite at a big-name taco place, a man phoned police over what he deemed “suspicious behavior.” It turned out, however, that the man was just another victim of the city’s ongoing terrornoia—the so-called “suspicious behavior” took place behind a nearby cell phone store when a man of Middle Eastern descent handed a couple of credit cards to the phone company employee. The red-haired worker returned with an armful of merchandise and loaded it into the back of the customer’s car, leading the caller to question the most American of concepts: buying disposable electronics on credit.

EAST VILLAGE | LONG BEACH
MON | APR 28 1PM
A purely cautionary item out of the East Village after a robber hit four local stores in four straight days. The first two crimes followed the same story: The robber entered a downtown business at night, held up the place at knifepoint and took off with a pocket full of cash. But the last two were more troubling, with the latter crimes taking place early in the day and both resulting in more violent confrontations. Word was to be careful at night, but turns out you aren’t safe in plain daylight, either.
