Entering and Breaking
UNKNOWN LOCATION | LONG BEACH
MON | OCT 8 6:35PM
It was one of those rare instances when justice seems like it’s going to be served: Long Beach police stumble upon a car without any plates, run its Vehicle Identification Number through the computer and discover it’s stolen. The vehicle, it turns out, was swiped from the streets of Seal Beach months earlier. But the ’85 Buick didn’t end up with such good luck after all: inside, the car was completely stripped, the parts torn out and shipped off to become someone else’s problem.
UNKNOWN LOCATION | CERRITOS
FRI | OCT 12 10:30PM
A Cerritos man came home from a quick night out to the signs of a robbery: computer missing, MP3 player gone, cash stolen. But as the man relayed the information to police, he found a couple of confusing things the robbers left behind. For one, they didn’t walk off with the TV—they just smashed in the screen. Stranger still were the points of entry: some windows were pried open, others were completely smashed, even the garage door was busted down—the place must’ve been impenetrable. When police arrived to assess things, they couldn’t even piece the scene together—best they could do was tell the man to hope for insurance and make his place even more secure. A castle, perhaps?
