Two armed men entered a local fast-food chain early Saturday morning and, after restraining employees with duct tape, headed for the safe. But because it was so early—and because the staff was just there to clean up and flip some burgers—the men couldn’t find anyone who knew how to open up the safe. Instead, they waited more than two hours for the manager to arrive before they were able to get at any of the restaurant’s cash. Apparently underwhelmed with their haul, the robbers decided to steal an employee’s car to make up for their wasted time.

A man became concerned when he spotted a pair of homeless men working out in his apartment complex’s gym. The resident told police that both men had been there before and had claimed to be friends of another resident. Apparently concerned only that the men were not accompanied by a resident, the caller had police dispatched to the scene. The cops, however, were unable to locate the two men before they took off with their stolen goods: a free workout.
