A couple grew terrified after being confronted by a man upset over the fact that the pair nearly hit his dog after it ran out into the street. The couple reportedly tried to reason with the man, but nothing could calm him down. Instead, he walked to the back of his lowered Chevy truck and pulled out a pipe. It was when the man came storming back that an elderly neighbor came out to try to diffuse the situation—and it worked, apparently. The man packed up his pipe and his dog, then piled into his truck and left on his way back to Corona.

Officers couldn’t respond quickly enough to two back-to-back robberies Sunday night. A pair of thieves first hit a Subway and got away on foot after a standard take-the-money, leave-the-sandwiches robbery. A second robbery, though perhaps unrelated, occurred at a nearby liquor store only 30 minutes later, with two men fleeing the scene in a getaway car. Police are still unsure whether or not the two crimes were related, though the liquor store admittedly seems like the logical nightcap.
