Fed up with that awful Scented Glade (glah-day!) candle commercial? Or, worse, with that overwhelming scent of Melon Burst? Clean Linen? How about Angel Whispers? Sure, the Scented Glade candles are conveniently available at the grocery store, and do a fair job of covering up that stale cigarette stench, but they also crap out after a few hours—you’d be better off with a bottle of Febreze and some of those cheap Mexican Jesus candles. Or you could try a Pacifica Soy Candle. Made from natural and essential oils and soy wax, these clean-burning candles are available in a host of subtly blended (read: not overpowering) fragrances, from herby ones like Bergamot Amber Rose to spicy ones like Zanzibar Cinnamon Almond to my favorite, the fruity Tuscan Blood Orange.
