Before you give up entirely and resign yourself to paying more to drive then you do to eat, do the green thing and try walking somewhere. While you’re at it, I suggest taking a stroll down to Flashback Fashion Vintage Store, where you can pick up a great pair of vintage kicks for less than the cost of a tank of gas. The pair of men’s boots we bought are most definitely an earlier model than my car, and probably have higher mileage, too, but the leather has that buttery look that can only be achieved with a full decade of hand polishing. The scalloped tops and vaguely square toe give them just the right touch of class, and the $30 price tag makes them all the more lovable.
