What the Title of the Next Long Beach Compilation record Should Be: Stay Dirty Long Beach!

No booking mix-up here. Long Beach habitants Sparrow Love Crew and Long Beachers The Valley Arena are playing big shows on the same night of April 11th.
Choosing where to start is just as hard as choosing where to go.
On one hand Sparrow Love Crew and Crystal Castles are relatively new bands that are beginning to make a name for themselves in the same fashion as the Cold War Kids. Also Dan Brown, resident Call Sick on Friday DJs Mashed Potatoes, recorded SLC’s recently dropped album “Burger Time.” Plus, the last time I saw them at Detroit bar it was packed and the crowd was there to see them and it was a very unique and spiritual experience.
Then you have a party dedicated to a magazine that has helped many Long Beach bands and musicians gain exposure and has helped shape the larger communities view of Long Beach itself. And the place where the 1 year anniversary is being held is a newer venue in Long Beach called the Cellar.
Granted the Valley Arena are Long Beach veterans having played almost every stage west of Orizaba.
Their latest record is a very strong record and they have had successful tours with radio play. They were also in Alternative Press “Bands to Watch of 2008.”
Lastly, The Valley Arena are on the Fidoturst Records release “Trust Us…A Long Beach Compilation” along with BlowUpBlow, The Soft Hands, The Valley Arena, Knives of the Official Disappointment, FaSt DrAgOn, Horns, Los Mysteriosos, Crystal Antlers, Thinking Aloud, Bella Novela, Free Moral Agents, Slippers, Telomere Repair, Arrow Down, Forcefield ON, Maritime Academy, Tijuana Knife Fight, Greater California, The Year Zero, Chase Frank, Deadly Finns, Repeater, Dios Malos.
This could be because Long Beach has a Christian music scene that is more related to than a part of the secular, so maybe Long Beach based Militia Group will ride on Fidotrusts curtails and make a Christian Long Beach Comp called “Trust Jesus…a spiritual Long Beach Comp” with Sparrow Love Crew, the Cold War Kids and the Victorians.
This also brings up another double booking, The Valley Arena are playing with Mike Watt and the band they are on tour with We Verses the Shark from Athens, Georgia on 4-20 duuuuude, the same night as one of the shows for the Fidotrust Fest shows in support of their record release.
However you choose your nights I highly recommend you pick up “Trust Us” because not only will it help the burgeoning Long Beach music scene, but it will also help your burgeoning mind.
