This is not your Thinking Man’s Pizza—no corn toppings, no clay ovens—just dough, sauce, cheese and your fixings. But that’s not to say it isn’t good. From the Pesto Pizza to the old stand-by Hawaiian, Long Beach Pizza Company aims for satisfaction over surprise. But one topping listed on the pizza menu does stand out: beans.  Topped with pinto beans (whole, not refried), onions, jalapeño slices and extra cheese, this Mexican pizza doesn’t completely ditch its Italian roots—black olives, pepperoni and sausage are on there, too, rounding out slices that for some will surely guarantee instant heartburn. It’s spicy and different, with each bite bringing a new taste—sometimes beans, sometimes pepperoni, sometimes both.
