Adjacent to the parking lot entrance at 22nd Street Landing is a whale-shaped sign with a toothy smile, beckoning you to “Whale Watch Here” while an arrow guides you into the lot. Though it may seem quaint or even inconsequential, it’s that oceanfront feeling that shapes the restaurant. The salmon was delightful: a sturdy slice of fish crisped ever-so-gently and paired with a tangy, creamy dipping sauce. The accompanying potatoes were even better: a garlicky pillow that had probably been whipped as well as mashed. So. Good. The shrimp were equally awesome: two large skewers of masterfully grilled shrimp, blackened just so, served with salted-and-peppered red potatoes that were topped off with a faint dash of rosemary that, along with the rest of the menu, will keep you coming back to “Whale Watch Here.”
