The most damning account in the growing string of stories about Congresswoman Laura Richardson’s careless and callous management of her personal finances appears today near the bottom of a story in the Torrance-based Daily Breeze, which reveals that Richardson hasn’t even paid a $150 bill to a Sir Speedy printing store in Signal Hill.

According to a piece by Daily Breeze staff writer Gene Maddeus—picked off by the Press-Telegram, which misidentifies him as its staff writer—the recent news of Richardson’s home foreclosure is only the tip of her messed-up financial iceberg. She’s had lots of foreclosures. The essence of Richardson’s way of doing business is revealed in Maddeus’ interview with Allen McLean, the proprietor of a print shop that went beyond the call of duty to meet Richardson’s last-minute order for an election party last August. Nearly a year later, despite monthly calls to try to collect the $150 bill, Sir Speedy remains unpaid.

Well surely she didn't pay her utility bills all those months she wasn't paying her mortgage, and probably not her gardener, pool boy, etc.

I'm sure there are many more businesses and people who have been stiffed by Richardson. Is anyone else willing to come forward?

Ms. Richardson is one of the new breeds of people in todays political blameless society. In the old days we called this kind of a person "flake", "deadbeat", or "loser". Today she is a "victim".

This surely ranks highly in the annals of the foulest episodes of corruption and profiteering... somewhere just below just about everything the current executive branch has done. They didn't misidentify the writer, that's the way they've been doing things for years. "Staff Writer" means the writer is employed somewhere in the MediaNews empire, not that the writer actually works for that specific paper. If you see a bunch of unfamiliar names, that's why.

To continue the digression (#4, #5 in particular), it seems odd to claim that the executive branch has paid their bills considering their insane need to perpetuate irresponsible tax cuts, to continue funding the war in Iraq outside of the federal budget, and that many billions of dollars still remain unaccounted from the time when the "Coalition Provisional Authority" was in charge. I think if we compare ther bill that we have been asked to foot for our (granted) not-very-responsible Congressperson and the bill that we have yet to foot for the actions of our executive branch, it's a no-brainer. Speaking of no-brainer, I forgot to mention the on-going, ever-increasing bill that we will have to pay in order to adequately cover the medical expenses for our returning veterans.

But I digress. And I'm tired. Maybe Andy will show up.

Hey, give the congresswoman a break. Just as she failed to pay her mortgage to research issues relating to the epidenmic of foreclosure, surely she's simply doing more research as to how much in unpaid receivables it takes before a small business goes belly up.

To "Nota" at entry No. 7: Just because the P-T did it on purpose--and has been doing it for awhile--doesn't mean that the reporter wasn't misidentified. It's a misleading stunt to make readers think there are more reporters at the "local" paper. Whats even more disgusting, appalling and sickening is the fact that randy "hypocrite" gordons salary is being paid by memorial hospital (among others), from revenues received from payment for treatments of respiratory illnesses of Long Beach schoolchildren most probably caused by port pollution. This pollution, as we know, can be reduced but for some reason the chamber of whores continually fights pollution reduction legislation.

Way to go randy! When these kids die I would say you helped "stiff" them!

It gets even worse!!! Laura Richardson has received $986,000 since early 2007 from donations all across the county. Add her salary as Assemblywoman, $87,000, and add the $28,000 in tax-free Assembly per diem for living expenses, and you have a total of well over one million dollars donated to Laura in the past 18 months.

Where on earth did all that money go?
