TO DO THIS WEEKEND: PARTY ON FOURTH STREET

Fourth Street is the destination on Saturday night, with opening celebrations for rollerskate shop Via Rollerskates (sharing space with vintage boutique Replay) and the criminally adorable lil’ ones shop Lil’ Devils Boutique. Spotted recently at Lil’ Devils were various cute onesies, like one with a picture of Bob Marley reading “Onesie Love” and another with a spoon that reads “Cereal Killer.” How cute is this shop? So cute that I told a pregnant co-worker today that the clothes and toys available there made me want to crawl into her womb just so be on the receiving end of this swag. Gross thought? Kind of. Awkward? Definitely. But it’s true. And in case you need another reason to head there, it can be found with this picture of what is perhaps the best table ever, inside the Lil’ Devils shop:

Additionally, the kind girls at Via Rollerskates wrote to fill us in on what they’ll be doing Saturday:

“There will be three ‘mini fashion shows on wheels’ at 8, 9 and 10 p.m. and beverages will be provided by the Angel City Brewery. There’ll also be schwag from Blood & Thunder Magazine, Riedell Skates and Sure Grip Skates. Appearances will be made by the Angel City Derby Girls, LA’s premier flat-track roller derby league. The shop will be open late night, selling classic outdoor roller skates, speed skates, wheels, roller skating apparel and all roller skate equipment. Custom roller skate artist ‘Know Love’ will be displaying her latest creations.”

If that’s not enough, there’s the opening for Robert Pokorny’s “Transitions” at {open}, a party at Shelter for the “Shakas and Single Fins” photo show (with live music by the Tijuana Panthers, who’ll be passing out free TJP shirts to the first 50 folks who ask for them), and DJs Elle Jay and B-rad will be deejaying at the Pike.

Come support these new local businesses! And drop by the new Art Theatre while you’re at it!

I was at 4th street Saturday night and had so much fun talking to the different shop owner. I never knew about the last Saturday of the month things that went on down there until Saturday night. There are so many variaties of people and that's what added to the excitment of the evening. Lil Devils has a beautiful shop and was the best party and the most fun on the block. Having the roller girls right next door with their fashion show every hour was awsome. All in all I would suggest this street to anybody looking to shop at their leasure or enjoy a casual night out.
