THE WEEK IN FOOD: FESTIVALS!

There’s always plenty to eat around town, but there’s a particularly filling week of food ahead for interested eaters, including these (ongoing) events:

One-Year Anniversary at Tracht’s: Suzanne Tracht’s eponymous spot inside the Renaissance Hotel (reviewed here) is celebrating its anniversary with a special three-courses-for-$30 menu. Among the options is, of course, Chef Tracht’s signature pot roast as well as the restaurant’s famous chocolate pudding. The anniversary celebration runs through September 1st. Visit trachts.com for details.

Costa Mesa restaurant week: Costa Mesa ups the three-courses-for-$30 menu at Tracht’s with special four-courses-for-$40 menus. Participating restaurants include the excellent Marché Moderne and Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s, the latter of which will see some time in this paper soon. Restaurant week runs through August 3rd. The OC Register has more details here.

Taste in San Pedro: San Pedro settles down at Point Fermin park to take in everything from Ante’s (profiled here) to Baja Fish (reviewed here). The festival is this Saturday and Sunday (August 2&3). Visit tasteinsanpedro.com for details.

Crawfish Festival: A self-explanatory celebration of crawfish down in Rainbow Lagoon set to some Grammy-nominated Cajun and Zydeco. The festival is this Saturday and Sunday (August 2&3). Visit longbeachcrawfishfestival.com for details.
