“SWINGIN’ DOORS, A JUKEBOX AND A BAR STOOL … “

You probably don’t want to play this at work, lessen you work in a really bad design studio, but here’s some vintage footage of something called Art Fein’s Poker Party from the year of 1986 and featuring yer boys Dwight Yoakam and Dave Alvin on rhythm.

Too cool for school: ’70s hair and western shirts, bright pink walls and giant playing cards on the set–and of course Dwight Yoakam’s hat is glued on.

Oh and, right, the songs. Starts out with a rocked-up version of Faron Young’s “Swinging Doors”–and because all things this hep must end quickly, it segues after a minute into Patsy Cline’s “Walkin’ After Midnight.”

Sadly, the entire clip is shorter than any major label ’50s country song–even what you got from “Thumper” Jones or “Corky” Owens–but you can just replay it.

Don’t get fired.
