SKEWZ YOUR NEWS
From the District inbox comes news about Skewz, a politically-based social news site:
Similar to the way people like to read reviews on Amazon.com before they buy, Skewz lets people see both sides of the story in one place, and make up their minds for themselves (you can even Skew yourself). You may have also seen the Microsoft announced a similar project called Blews, however Blews is neither interactive or user-driven.
The idea is for users to rank stories on the trusty political spectrum, marking each as “liberal” or “conservative” (or somewhere in between if the story attains some sort of objectivity). Doing so supposedly allows readers to see “all sides of the story” before they read the story, which should be completely offensive to all fans of subtlety and/or context. Still, Skewz shouldn’t have a problem besting Microsoft, which apparently wants to remind you of vomit every time you think of the news.
