PRESIDENTIAL POLITICS: YES, PECAN!

While McCain takes a breather and waits for his certain anointment, Obama and Clinton continue the primary slog. The first of two upcoming debates is tomorrow, but Obama obviously has the momentum, with a clean sweep through all of February’s 10 contests behind him. And on that point, Bill Clinton himself acknowledged that it’s do-or-die in Ohio and Texas.

Much is also being made of Michelle Obama’s gaffe, but more interesting is Bill O’Reilly’s response in which he tries his mightiest to be fair and balanced (emphasis is mine):

That’s wrong. And I don’t want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there’s evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that’s how she really feels — that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever — then that’s legit. We’ll track it down.

And on the endorsement front, Obama picked up the Teamsters today and is still savoring that of Ben & Jerry, which has apparently prompted calls for a Yes, Pecan! ice cream in the candidate’s honor.
