FOUR MORE YEARS

Per CNN:

For only the second time in nearly three decades, there won’t be a Bush on the presidential ballot this November. But that absence may not be a permanent one, the current White House occupants hinted Sunday.

President Bush was asked by a SkyNews correspondent whether the end of his term marked the end of the Bush presidential dynasty that began with his father’s Oval Office tenure 20 years ago.

In response, Bush singled out his brother, who has often been mentioned as a possible Republican presidential contender. “Well, we’ve got another one out there who did a fabulous job as governor of Florida, and that’s Jeb,” he said. “But you know, you better ask him whether or not he’s thinking of running. But he’d be a great president.”

Great. Another demon Bush with his finger on the button. I'd feel safer with a chimp in the Oval Office.

835 are you serious? How many attacks on American soil since 9/11? And on 9/12/2001 did you think almost 7 years would pass with no more terrorist attacks? Outside of Iraq and Afghanistan how many terror attacks against Americans/American interests? What an inane and vapid statement, make it on DailyKos and let them all tell you how incredibly insightful and clever you are; I would change my animal analogy however as the PC crowd will probably blow you up over it. Safer? Please pull your head out and look at facts. While tired of it, I get the Bush Derangement Syndrome, sort of like Clinton Derangement Syndrome from 180 degrees, it totally obscures reality except as told by Olberman, New York Times editorials, college professors, your really cool and hip friends with their Che shirts. Since 9/11 you are safer from any Islamic terrorist than you are any gang banger terrorist living within 2 miles of your home (if you live anywhere in LBC) but I guess that is Bush's fault as well, maybe that is what you mean, you feel safe from external terrorists but not internal gang bangers living near your home killing anyone not their homey.

Find a chimp and try to get it elected so you can curl up at night and feel safe. Let us all know how that goes for you.

Hmmm. Before 9/11 I was safer from any Islamic terrorist than from any gang banger terrorist living within 2 miles of my home. But I guess the lack of parades of flag-waving, AK47-toting A-rabs down my street is all due to the dilligence of George W! Praise be!

    Is this guy for real?

You really think you were safer prior to 9/11? Why because they chose New York and Washington DC instead of the Port of Long Beach for their acts? Prior to 9/11 there were numerous acts of terror against the U.S. for many years, since? How many? Any of our ships blown up in foreign ports? Any discos blown up where our soldiers were relaxing? Any embassies bombed? Any office buildings bombed? Are you ignorant of history or just choose to pant the party line? It just amazes me that people think had Bush let 9/11 go and not gone after terrorists where they were entrenched that the acts of 9/11 would have been a singular event. Yeah I'm for real, and thankfully most Americans in 2000 and 2004 were are well when they went to the polls.

Some of you may remember some of these, some no doubt were in diapers or not born when the terrorist attacks began, note as well that Iranian taking of U.S. Embassy in Tehran not even listed:

i notice most of the terrorist incident you cite happened when reagan or ghw bush were president, thats why we cannot afford another republican in the whitehouse! they are soft on terror.

    ps
jeb bush wont stand a chance in 2012 or ever for that matter. the "bush" brand is irrevocably tainted now.

You're right, they took the same approach as Clinton--trying to use the U.S. criminal justice system to prosecute terror. Not until we treated it as a war and not as crime did the attacks stop against the U.S. And re: Jeb having opportunity you are probably right there, about as much chance as any Clinton winning again. Despite your flip remark it has been a Republican President that has stopped a continuous line of terror attacks against the U.S. and a Republican that has the best policy to continue to keep us safe.

who was president on 9/11? who had been president since 1-02? where are the perpetrators of the first wtc bombing? where are the perpetrators of 9/11? looking forward to your answers.

    • v
what "continuous line of terrorist attacks" are you referring to? must be some info only republicans have access to.
    • ^
    • v
Mr. JBush2012 also seems to forget all the attacks that have occured *after* 9/11 as well (Madrid, London, several in Indonesia, etc), but like Lynne Cheney, maybe our JBush2012 only thinks events are significant within the lower 48? Not likely given his extensive list prior to 9/11.

It also seems odd that he didn't include the terrorist bombings in Baghdad and Tehran that we funded through the CIA. Seems he has a selective memory.

Jeb Bush, George Bush, George W, Bush...they're all great guys if you're into war, budget deficits, corruption, fear, greed, inflation, division, incompetence, buffoonery and general chaos.

Personally, I prefer good things, but maybe it's just me.

Jeb Bush--If you thought Bush was a moron, you'll be totally ready for Jebby--he's even more anti-science, anti-logic, anti-civil liberties than his bro. As a Florida resident for far too long, we had to endure the whole Terri Shiavo is alive debacle, gutting of environmental and coastal protections, destruction of the state's pension system, and, of course, decimation of consumer protections if there's a bank in the mix.

Not to mention his crazy-ass wife. His election would guarantee a Supreme Court full of religious zealots. But don't worry, now the right wing nutters are talking up his son, an attorney (shocked?), as a potential candidate.

And, since 9/11 wouldn't have happened if Bush hadn't been elected, it seems that JBushh2012 is a bit removed from the cause/effect line of reasoning. It's easier to spout bumper sticker BS and cut-n-paste from righty wingnut sites.

    • v
... and with Jebby we'd probably get Bill "I know she's alive from thousands of miles away" Frist as Surgeon General.

    • v
You guys are like an Ausie cracker race. Anything original and not six years old you can come up with? No? BTW are we responsible for the security of Spain, England, Indonesia, etc? I mean you want to restrict the ability to keep our own citizens safe but you put their safety at the President's desk? Speaking of morons.

    Re: #15

Yeah, that whole 9/11 is so six years ago.

How about the wasted lives, bodies, and families that have been wrecked by the whole unnecessary war in Iraq? How abut the deterioration of Afghanistan because of the distracted focus on Iraq, you genocidal troll? Is that current enough for you?

are you ignoring my questions jbush2012?
    • ^
    • v
"Genocidal troll", very lucid and appropriate spew from your posts on this website. Ask the tens of thousand Iraqi women who have not been raped by Saddams regime how they feel, ask the tens and tens of thousands not murdered by his regime. History will judge you the fools you are; just as it judged all the imbiciles ranting at Reagan that he was starting a nuclear holocaust by his threat to place missiles in Germany. How did that go for you.

F* you and your "genocidal troll" comment, it makes everything you said irrelevant and from a child.
    • ^
    • v
Aaah beautiful. Which of the tens of thousands not murded do we ask? The ones who died as a result of our invasion? Oh I forgot. Those were all insurgents! I guess freedom is untidy and separating a few souls from a few bodies is just more untidiness. So who is next in your list for libration, Mr. JBush2012? Is it Myanmar? Is it Zimbabwe? Sudan? North Korea? Cuba? Afghanistan? Doh, I forgot. We did that one already. I guess we have to do it again so keep it on the list. How did you, Mr. JBush2012, decide Iraq should have higher liberation priority than Darfur or other places on this list?
    • ^
    • v
You post in hypotheticals. And yet you answer no factual assertions, nor respond to legitimate questions.

And then throw a verbal temper tantrum.

    Who is the child?

If the original purpose of the war was to remove Saddam Hussien from power because he was ruthless despot, would you have supported the invasion? Would you have supported that without any exit strategy whatsoever? Keep in mind, that was NOT the reason we went in there.

Can you answer any question without bringing up Reagan, because Bush's regime has been such an unconditional failure?
