The intertubes are abuzz with news of Anonymous, a hacker group who have launched an attack on the Church of Scientology. Anonymous are calling the attack Project Chanology which is “the large scale plan to bring down the Church of Scientology. On January 16, 2008; Anonymous decided to spread the message that batshit insane fucktard L. Ron Hubbard(LRH) is a batshit insane fucktad.”

Anonymous have released details of their attack on their Chanology site the first phase of wich is a massive DDOS attack on Scientology websites. (A DDOS attack, distributed denial of service attack, is basically a method where many computers all over the net repeatedly send requests to a site in hopes that the site will eventually not be able to handle the load and other users will not be able to send legitimate requests)This is quite interesting stuff on many levels, technologicaly, sociologically, and theologically (chills raced up my spine when the first video ended stating ‘We are Anonymous, we are Legion‘ all of you good Christians should know why) and I’ll be interested to see how it pans out. Both groups have the potential to flex a lot of muscle in this battle of good and evil (or perhaps evil and eviler) and both groups really frighten me.

UPDATE: Apparently, one of the approved tactics is to Rickroll CoS hot lines.
