SUJA LOWENTHAL RUNNING (HER MOUTH) UNOPPOSED
Suja Lowenthal is among three members of the Long Beach City Council — the others are Rae Gabelich and Patrick O’Donnell — who don’t have to campaign for re-election this year because no one filed to oppose them. Trying to hold these officials to some kind of public accounting, the Press-Telegram’s John Canalis submitted questions to each of them, and will be publishing their responses each Monday for the next few weeks.
Suja, who represents the Second District, kicks things off today. The questions are pretty basic, and there’s no followup to any of them, so the answers are kinda blah. But it’s better than nothing – which is the sad state of Long Beach democracy.
