PORT SECURITY

A glimpse of the future

The future, they say, is unwritten, but I think Congressman Bart Stupak’s prediction about the future of port security is so dead-on, it can safely be carved in stone. “The next generation of equipment will only be as good as the next salesman knocking on the door of the Department of Homeland Security,” Stupak (D-MI) told the L.A. Times for a story on radiation detection efforts at the Port of Long Beach.

Rachel Powers, armed only with a Toyota and the occasional photographer or infant, assesses the blow-upableness of the port here.
