NO NEWS FROM RICHARDSON FINANCIALS

You might have missed this, but The Associated Press’s Erica Werner covered the annual release Monday of congressional disclosure reports, in hopes it would shed some light on that whole Congresswoman Laura Richardson (D-Long Beach) thing.

“In earlier disclosure forms filed in May, the first-term Democrat listed no liabilities, although reports emerged late last month she had lost her Sacramento home to foreclosure and has homes in San Pedro and Long Beach that have fallen into default six times,” Werner wrote in Monday’s Press-Telegram.

Ah, but sadly, no news this time either from our erstwhile 37th Congressional District representative.

“Richardson was among 10 members of California’s 53-person congressional delegation to file an extension for the forms, which cover the 2007 calendar year,” Werner noted. “Her spokesman did not respond to messages seeking comment.”

And, scene!

If it makes you feel any better, Richardson hasn’t answered a set of questions sent her by the Los Angeles Times‘ Peter Viles either–on May 22.

Worst of all, Viles–who writes for the Times‘ L.A. Land blog–is starting to sound dangerously discouraged in his quest.

“I sent her office a list of questions in late May (you can see my questions by clicking at the bottom of this post) and haven’t heard back,” Viles writes, “so I’m giving up and turning to you: submit your best (serious) questions for U.S. Rep. Laura Richardson, I’ll sort through them and send them along to her congressional office. Fire away.”

Do you really think that will work?
