ART OF EXPRESSION

From the District inbox:

Northpointe Apartments’ youth need after school programming to continue at their community.  The children who participate in this vital program face daily risk factors, such as gang involvement, teen pregnancy, substance abuse and high school truancy.  Nearly all of them are faced with the hard reality of simply trying to survive.

As a part of the commitment to community education and awareness Communities Advocating for Resident Empowerment (C.A.R.E.) is hosting an art show and fundraiser on April 26, 2008 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Northpointe Apartment Community Center.  Funds raised through the event will directly benefit the after school program and help increase the enrollment from 60 kids to 100 kids.

Sounds like a worthy cause to us. Visit go2CARE.org for more info.
