A FEW GEMS FROM MAILER
Waaaaaay easier than reading The Executioner’s Song
Mi esposo just came home, read my Mailer notice, and said, “You left out my favorite quote!” So here it is, wisdom from the great man himself:
“You never know a woman till you’ve had her in court.”
Mailer would know, having been married six times. Instead of wondering why my husband enjoys this quote so much, I’m going to give you my favorite quote, in this case a part of an exchange with Tom Wolfe:
Mailer: There is something silly about a man who wears a white suit all the time, especially in New York.
Wolfe: The lead dog is the one they always bite in the ass.
Mailer: It doesn’t mean you’re top dog just because your ass is bleeding.
