Travis Pastrana risks life and limb in LB

Red Bull said, “Jump!” and Travis Pastrana replied, “How far?” and then everybody let Guinness make the call on New Year’s Eve, as Pastrana drove his Subaru off the Pine Ave. Pier, vaulting the rally car 269 feet in the air before landing on a barge stationed in Rainbow Harbor. Obviously, lots of things could’ve gone wrong here, but for the sake of the 35,000 people in attendance—and who knows how many watching at home on ESPN—we’re glad he made it. The last thing our waterfront needs is additional pollution.
