Walk Against Domestic Violence
October is National Arts and Humanities Month—which you may know, thanks to GLOBAL’s tireless efforts toward expanding knowledge about and participation in arts events in Long Beach; and it’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month—which you certainly know about if you’ve watched an NFL game in recent weeks. It’s also National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which you may not be aware of at all. On Friday, WomenShelter invites you to light a candle and walk in honor of domestic-violence victims and survivors. Wear purple—and while you’re at it, pink, too.
