TO DO: SCARIUM OF THE PACIFIC
Scarium of the Pacific
The Aquarium of the Pacific promises that “creepy-looking animals” will be on hand this weekend to scare the bejellyfish right out of your little ones—but chances are your kids will be more “Weee!” and less “Eeek!” (Concepts of icky/spooky/gross don’t really settle in until those dreaded teenaged years, when your child will want nothing to do with you on Halloween, anyway.) Also on schedule: vampire magic, freaky facepaint, scary stories, an “eerie children’s coloring contest” and a costume contest. May the best dorsal fin win.
Aquarium of the Pacific, 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach 90802. 562.590.3100. Sat-Sun 9am-5pm. Free for members and children under 12 in costume with coupon from Web site. $20.95-23.95. aquariumofpacific.org.
