All proceeds benefit the Melody Ross Memorial Trust. On the 7:30 p.m. bill are reknowned Cambodian-American rapper PraCh—Melody’s favorite musical artist—plus the Universal Speakers; Chapter 11’s DaddyScotty aka “Dub PassenJah”; Mike the Poet; JUMAKAE Yodraj and more.

  • The community response to Melody Ross’s tragic death has been overwhelming. We plan to be present at this event tonight to honor the memory of Melody Ross and support her family. Thank you everyone who has contributed to organize this special event and the other fundraisers that have occurred across Long Beach, as well providing direct donations to the trust. In working together, our community will heal from this violence.

To follow up this memorial, One Imagination is dedicating its monthly open mic, BREAK THE SILENCE, to the memory of Melody Ross and all victims of violence. It takes place Thursday, November 19th, 8-11PM at Mirage Coffeehouse (539 E. Bixby Rd, Long Beach). From 6-8PM before the open mic, we are also holding a writing session around the impact violence has on us and our communities. Please join us.
