One has to wonder why Obama is using Long Beach Airport. Standard procedure ever since Bubba shut down LAX for several hours for a "hollywood haircut" has been for the president to use the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos. Being a military base, it is far easier to secure and is virtually "non-disruptive" to local communities. The general public is being advised to stay away from LGB, but I suspect that mayor Foster will be front and center when POTUS 44 arrives.And that folks is probably why Long Beach Airport is being used today: he was invited to do so, never mind how disruptive it will prove to be. For those inclined to make Public Record Act requests, how about requesting all correspondence between Long Beach city government and the Whitehouse regarding this matter? I am concerned that Foster could ask for "help" in turning LGB into an international airport via a federal mandate or something equally evil. Somebody with reporter's credentials and access needs to be on hand to make sure that less than five councilmembers show up so as not to constitute a Brown Act violation.

I don't what you are proud of, but it surely can't be your knowledge of SoCal geography. every map I look at shows the LosAl base to be one heck of lot closer to Costa Mesa than LGB.
