ONE-THIRD OF WORLD BEGGING CUBAN TO BUY DODGERS

As the financial future of the Dodgers dangles amid the tangled divorce of team owners Frank and Jamie McCourt, the high-profile owner of the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA tells Los Angeles Times reporter Bill Shaikin that a high percentage of the world’s population is appealing to him to buy the team.

Well, what Mark Cuban actually wrote to Shaikin in an e-mail was that he has heard from “more [people] than I can count.” But considering that Cuban is a billionaire—according to Forbes Magazine, a $2.3 billionaire—he’s got to be able to count at least that high, right? That’s almost one third of Earth’s population, which is about  6.796 billion people.

I hope this doesn't happen. Mark Cuban has single-handedly transformed the Mavericks into an overpaid, underachieving catastrophe of a team.

I would appreciate Cuban's enthusiasm if he wasn't as involved in roster decisions. He needs to let his GM and coaches do their jobs, a la Jerry Buss with Mitch Kupchak.

Oh, I was hoping a Cuban was buying the Dodgers and would have them relocate to Havana. This would be part of the thawing of relations with Castro. The reality is much more borint.
