LATEST ON THE MELODY ROSS TRAGEDY

It’s two-and-a-half days since the tragic shooting Friday night after Wilson High School’s homecoming game, which claimed the life of 16-year-old Melody Ross, and here’s the latest as friends and family remember her, and police struggle to find the person responsible for her death:

The Press-Telegram and the Los Angeles Times report that police “seek leads” (the P-T’s headline), and have “no motive, no suspects” (the Times‘ headline) in the shooting at Tenth Street and Ximeno Avenue, just outside the school.

LBReport.com discovers that Ross’s classmates have created an “RIP Melody Ross” page in her memory on Facebook.

And, as the P-T reminds us, Ross wasn’t the only person wounded Friday night:

Two men, one 18 and the other 20, suffered from non-life-threatening wounds,” the P-T’s Peter Surowski writes in Monday’s paper. “The three victims were taken to a hospital, where Ross died. The 20-year-old was treated and released, and the 18-year-old is recovering in the hospital.”
