FUNNY THING IS, IT’S CANCELED

The so-called improvised comedy show, Whose Live Anyway? (to be clear, we’re not suggesting it isn’t improvised— that’s obvious—we’re just wondering whether it’s legitimately called comedy) that was scheduled for the Terrace Theater this Friday … has been canceled.

The show was to be a spin on the “Whose Line Is It, Anyway?” television program, which on one hand was pure torture and on the other banished Drew Carey to his rightful place as a game-show host. No reason has been given for the cancellation, although we can hope it had something to do with a violation of Long Beach’s community standards – or even better, poor ticket sales.

Speaking of that, refunds on already-purchased tickets are available at the original point of purchase.

“On behalf of Jam Theatricals, SMG, and the Long Beach Performing Arts Center, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,” said Dan Spellens, Director of Theaters & Entertainment for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center in a press release.

No need to apologize, Dan. Really. We ought to be thanking you.

Have you ever even seen the show? It's hilarious. This article makes it sound like you have a personal vendetta, and it's completely unprofessional.

That's your opinion. In my opinion, you have no taste and don't understand the concept of "funny" but, whatever.

Wow. What crawled up your butt?

This is what passes as journalism these days? Some whiny douchebag complaining about a show he doesn't like?

Please tell me you did not get paid for this.

Sounds like someone has a grudge. How childish and like someone else has said, unprofessional.

You've kinda just insulted all the people who bought tickets in the first place. Very unprofessional. Improvisation is an incredible skill, and part of the magic of not only the live show, but also the television show, is that we get to marvel at these incredible performers. Perhaps only people with marginal intelligence can appreciate this.

By the way, there are spelling errors in your article.
