RIDING ON THE METRO

The LA Times writes today about a number of businesspeople sucking it up and taking the Metro to cut gas costs. Included, of course, is this quote about the Blue Line:

“I was scared,” says Francine Choi, a Los Angeles County employee who lives in Long Beach. “I was worried I’d get mugged.” And then a couple months ago, filling her BMW at a Chevron near work, she gasped when she saw the total pass $60. Then and there, she summoned the courage to do it at last.

And in completely unrelated headline news: “Teenager finds baby bat in her bra.”

I am not scared of the Blue Line, but the Blue Line at night is another story! Kinda more gang-ridden than I am comfortable with.

However, my last experience was much more pleasant......

It would take me 3 times longer to take the Metro to get to work than it does to go by car. And given what that extra hour or so (each way) of my time is worth, they're going to need to institute some more express trains before it becomes worth my while.
