P-T MISSES ONE DETAIL OF QM STORY

A very good and complete story in today’s Press-Telegram about the pending settlement of a lawsuit against former Queen Mary kingpin Joe Prevratil–except for the part where it didn’t mention that story it completed was broken on The District’s website Monday. That’s two days ago.

Perhaps this seems petty, but it’s longstanding journalistic practice for newspapers that are following up a breaking story to mention the publication that broke it originally–technically, that’s part of the story. Such competitiveness is an element of the best journalism.

Otherwise, good job.

Nah, that would be admitting they don't investigate and report stories anymore. I doubt there's much they actually 'discover' anymore. Mostly press releases, local events, wire service stories, and whatever's going on near the news HQ in Torrance.

Thats weird, Wendy has always been a team player.

hey dave, any chance of an expose of the shockingly large number of racist jackoffs who post in the P-T comment sections?

Perhaps the PT needs to save face after assuring readers that Prevratil never did anything wrong while operating the Queen Mary. I guess what's been discovered proves otherwise.

Obviously it's wrong to presume that the PT is an actual newspaper, when in fact the "news" portion is more of an advertising supplement to it's paid ads. The ads should be on the outside and the "news" supplement on the inside.

prevratil, o'neill, gordon, etc, and the shameless polishing continues.
