CANDIDATES SQUARE OFF OVER 46TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
Where in the world is Congressional Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Huntington Beach)?
Well, thanks for asking, and we don’t know how to tell you this, but we know you’d want us to be the ones to tell you that last night, Rohrabacher wasn’t in Long Beach. (Oh, don’t act so surprised!)
The incumbent congressman–who divides our city with Rep. Laura Richardson (D-Long Beach), also up for re-election–was in Costa Mesa after the sun went down, debating challengers Ernst Gasteiger of the Libertarian Party, Tom Lash of the Green Party, and Huntington Beach Mayor Debbie Cook.
For two hours. Awesome!
The Press-Telegram’s Joe Segura was either lucky or unlucky enough to hear the nine-term incumbent challenge Cook, his main opposition, on the bailout (Rohrabacher, who sometimes visits Long Beach, was agin it)–and to hear the Congressman get booed over global warming.
Less than two weeks now, until Election Day.
