“… JERKY KIDS DOING THEIR THING”: SLASHING TIRES
Last night, a person or persons unknown slashed more than 100 tires on vehicles in San Pedro, hitting parked cars “near 21st Street between Gaffey Street and Pacific Avenue; Ninth Street and Patton Avenue; Sebastian and Channel streets; and Battery Street and Cabrillo Avenue” according to the Daily Breeze’s Donna Littlejohn.
That’s a huge loss for folks in San Pedro–probably well into the tens of thousands of dollars–and, as noted by LAObserved.com, Los Angeles police Officer Ana Aguirre had the great quote.
“We’re looking for commonalities in the victims to see if there’s a trend,” Aguirre told the Breeze. “But it appears that it was just a bunch of jerky kids doing their thing.”
Indeed–”jerky kids” being the modern term for “young whippersnappers.”
“Gone are the days of toilet papering or throwing confetti or eggs on someone’s yard,” Michelle Arthur told the Breeze. Arthur’s mother-in-law was visiting, and had her tires slashed; so did Arthur’s husband. “It’s not so innocent anymore.”
