AMERICA TO DISINTEGRATE IN 2010

From the Pravda school of headlines comes this story from the Wall Street Journal about Russian professor Igor Panarin’s prediction of the end of the United States. Come 2010, Panarin believes the economy will be so bad that richer states will secede from the union, leaving the rest of the country to splinter along geographical and racial lines.

Gaze into the future with the WSJ’s excellent accompanying visual of the Divided States:

First of all in Texas we don’t want you other states, just give us our Original Territorial Boundaries and return the land the U.S. took from us in 1845. The sons of the defenders of the Alamo have our reputations to maintain the rest of you have to prove yourself first before we ally with you. As for Mexico, we beat the crap out of them in 1835 and we will do'er again!!! REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!!!

Laugh if you want but this is more likely to happen than what that Commie Pig is spouting.

I doubt Mexico would even want Texas, what with losers like the Bush family and the Cowboys. Especially the Cowboys. And, if you recall, you guys were also losers with the whole Alamo thing.

Russia just wants control of Alaska since, you know, they can see it from their house.

why would California side with Nevada, Idaho, and Utah? Except for Vegas, which is already part of greater LA, these three states have nothing to offer but Mormons and poverty
  • California should fly solo if there is a break up. We'd do much better on our own.
  • Not without making substantial changes in the abysmal manner in which we govern ourselves, we wont.

I strongly agree with both of you, LB City Girl and Mr. Greet.
  • Awwwwwwww, isn't it cute how we're all getting along?

    This is just a russian-nationalistic pipe-dream.

First of all, he definitely does not understand regional differences in north america and least of which this think we call the Constitution. Anyways its more comical than anything else. Well, a former KGB agent can still dream.

I wonder if Igor has put any money on his theory?

we are already being silently invaded by our dear neighbors below our southern border, and this all started pre-recession and has been happening for several decades.

if anything, all other states should just give california back to the mexico since californians enjoy electing officials bent on socialism, aiding and abetting illegal (lol @undocumented) immigrants and over taxation.

most kids today really don't know what being a United States citizen means.

the only war i see is the one that will have to be fought with our neighbor south of us. bring home the troops and secure our borders now!

If California split from the United States, Utah and Idaho wouldn't be involved.
  • California's population is large enough where we can be on our own. Nobody would want Utah involved at all. Funny thing, is this prediction is not 100% far fetched...
