Please tell me I’m not the only one who heard Press-Telegram Pretend Editor Rich Archbold say today on KFWB that drastically cutting staff and shifting virtually all significant decision-making power to the management of the South Bay Daily Breeze, did not threaten the paper’s survival but, was in fact, making the paper “stronger!” He said that. And yes it sounds kinda crazy and sad, but mostly crazy, though it’s pretty sad, but you should know that there is a school of thought out there that agrees with Archbold’s theory of success. It’s known to business types and fans of Monty Python and the Holy Grail as the Black Knight school of achievement, i.e. one gains strength as his arms and legs are cut off and they are nothing more than a dying (figure) head bleeding in the dirt. So watch your ankles, Los Angeles Times!
