“My friend gave me this box set for Christmas. My sister introduced me to Hank five or six years ago, and it’s been love ever since. The lyrics are so melancholy and horrible but great at the same time. I never bought any of the albums because—and I hate to admit it—I download my favorite songs off the Internet. Until now, that is! This is a double-disc that’s a ‘greatest hits’ type thing and has all the good songs. My favorite song is probably ‘Jambalaya.’ Or ‘I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry’—which I’m not, but I can pretend to be when I’m listening to it. I mean, nothing bad has ever happened to make me feel the way that he does in his songs, and I’ve always associated it with positive emotions, because even though the lyrics are sad, the music is really upbeat.
