ENTRANCE by JENNIE WARREN
WED | JUNE 27
ENTRANCE @ ARTHUR MAGAZINE BENEFIT
SILENT MOVIE THEATRE | LOS ANGELES
Bassist Paz Lenchantin moved out of Long Beach last Tuesday, but her band Entrance fed my desire for Sabbath and heavy acid rock on songs like “Grim Reaper Blues.” Singer/guitarist Guy Blakeslee’s voice (and look) [and admiration for Tinariwen –ed.] say Saharan hippie, but their music is psychedelic American. Emcee (and occasional District writer) Oliver Hall was totally right when he ordered us to “prepare for tightness.” My new favorite band!
